Asia Pacific Network Operators Group: Privacy Statement
Privacy Statement
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a
regulation for data protection and privacy for all individual citizens
of the European Union (EU) and the European Economic
Area (EEA). Its implementation in May 2018 led many organisations
worldwide to post or update privacy statements regarding how they
handle information collected in the course of business. Such
statements tend to be long and include carefully crafted legal
terminology.
The APNOG privacy statement relates to its members, suppliers, and
sponsors as described below:
- APNOG collects information about its members as required by its
Constitution so as to maintain a list of members and their
contact information. Members agree to this information being
collected as part of their membership. APNOG only uses this
information to communicate with members about membership
matters, the APNOG Annual General Meeting, and about the APRICOT
Summit that APNOG produces. APNOG lists its members names on the
APNOG website, under the Members section.
- APNOG collects information about its suppliers and sponsors as
part of the process of handling payments or invoicing for
operational costs or receive sponsorship payments
for its events. This information is retained exclusively
in APNOG's finance system provided by Xero.
- APNOG will never use member, supplier, or sponsor contact
information for any purpose apart from those listed above,
or provide this information to any third party.
- If anyone believes APNOG holds personal information about them
that should not be held by APNOG, we will remove it immediately on
request.
